CRA Cloud Services Have Been Registered in Czechia’s eGovernment Catalogue at the BU3 Level

The eGovernment cloud computing catalogue has recently entered CRA cloud services at security level 3 (BU3). This catalogue is managed by the Digital and Information Agency in cooperation with the National Cyber and Information Security Authority.

The entry confirms that CRA cloud services meet the highest requirements for security, availability, and legislative compliance for use in the public administration environment.

eGovernment Cloud Computing Catalogue

The eGovernment Cloud Computing Catalogue is an official list of providers and services that meet the legislative, security, and operational requirements for use in Czech public administration. The purpose of the catalogue is to easily enable government institutions to choose trustworthy cloud solutions while ensuring that the services they use meet strict standards in the areas of data protection, availability, and cybersecurity.

Entry in the catalogue is preceded by a comprehensive assessment evaluating technical architecture, security measures, process management, and compliance with relevant legislation.

Security Level 3: High Standard for Critical Agendas

Security level 3 (BU3) is designed for systems and services that work with sensitive information or support important public administration agendas. Providers, in turn, respond to this demand.

To achieve this level, cloud services must meet, among other things:

  • Localisation and data protection requirements within the EU
  • Implementation of advanced security measures, including data encryption
  • Certification according to international standards (např. ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018)
  • A high level of availability and resilience of infrastructure
  • Detailed monitoring, logging, and access control
  • Clearly defined processes for incident resolution and termination of service (exit strategy)

Scope Of Registered Services

CRA services in the following areas have been entered into the eGovernment Cloud Catalogue:

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
    • Shared cloud
    • Private cloud
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS)

This broad portfolio covers the diverse needs of public administration organizations from basic infrastructure to complex application platforms.

Long-Term Experience as Critical Infrastructure

CRA has been providing services for the critical infrastructure of the state for a long time, especially in the areas of broadcasting, connectivity, data centres and ICT services. They also use this experience in the design and operation of cloud solutions with high demands on security, availability, and reliability.

The entry of cloud services into the eGovernment catalogue at the BU3 level designates CRA's cloud computing services for public administration and confirms the development of a portfolio of digital services for the state and its organisations.

Benefits For Public Administration and Customers

The BU3 level listing confirms that CRA's cloud services meet the high security and reliability requirements that are necessary for the operation of critical government systems.

For government customers, this means:

  • the ability to use cloud services from a verified and certified provider
  • a simpler and faster process of selecting solutions in accordance with legislation
  • a high standard of data protection and operational stability.

With this step, CRA further strengthens its role as a technology partner for the digitisation of public administration in the Czech Republic.
