CRA and Multiverse Computing Have Signed a Strategic Memorandum Regarding the Czech AI Gigafactory
CRA and the Spanish technological company Multiverse Computing have signed a Strategic Partnership Memorandum, by which they confirm their shared interest in developing a Czech AI Gigafactory (AIGF CZ) and building sovereign AI capacity for the Czech Republic and the Central and Eastern European region.
Part of the memorandum is a declaration by Multiverse Computing on its intention to contract a capacity of up to 30 MW of power input within the AIGF CZ and to enter the project with a capital investment of up to €50 million. Multiverse would thus also become one of the strategic partners and providers of the AIGF CZ’s sovereign AI layer.
“The memorandum with Multiverse Computing is an important step towards transforming the Czech Republic into one of Europe’s leaders in sovereign artificial intelligence. AI Gigafactory CZ is not just data infrastructure for us – it is the foundation for building Czech and European AI models for public authorities, research, and key sectors of industry. Joining forces with one of the most progressive European players in this area strengthens our ambition to build the main AI hub of the region in the Czech Republic,” states Miloš Mastník, CEO of CRA.
“The Czech AI Gigafactory is an opportunity to show what genuinely European AI looks like, not a copy of existing models, but sovereign, efficient, and purpose-built. Multiverse Computing’s participation in AIGF CZ reflects our conviction that sovereign AI requires sovereign software which we will provide, and that Central and Eastern Europe is ready to lead on both,” adds Enrique Lizaso, Co-Founder & CEO of Multiverse Computing.
AIGF CZ is a project prepared as part of the European AI Gigafactory initiative under the European Commission and EuroHPC, which aims to strengthen Europe's technological sovereignty and the competitiveness of the European AI ecosystem. The ambition of both parties is to make the Czech Republic one of Europe's AI leaders and a main AI hub in the Central and Eastern European region – including by developing Czech and European language models, AI applications for public authorities, and professional solutions for key industrial sectors.
