CRA expands Žižkov DC Tower to meet demand for higher capacity and power consumption
CRA is increasing the capacity and power consumption of its Tower data centre in Prague's Žižkov district. Having invested more than CZK 200 million, the DC Tower now has a capacity of over 630 racks. Power consumption has increased by another 1.3 MW, and capacity has increased by approximately 30% compared to before.

‘Demand for capacity and parameters in data centres is constantly evolving, and companies require higher power consumption. That is why we have built additional data rooms in the DC Tower and increased both capacity and power consumption’, said CRA CEO Miloš Mastník.

Work on expanding the DC Tower began last autumn. As part of the expansion, three diesel generators were installed and the new section of the data centre comprises a commercial hall with a capacity of up to 111 racks, as well as three private halls with a total capacity of 40 racks and power inputs exceeding 10 kW per rack. The private halls enable customers to not only to ensure greater physical security, but also directly impact their operating costs, e.g., by making use of higher operating temperatures, which current technologies can easily handle.

CRA already operates eight data centres in the Czech Republic, including sites in Prague's Žižkov and Strahov districts, as well as in Cukrák, Brno, Ostrava, Pardubice, Zlín, and Lužice. Interest in leasing capacity continues to grow, which is why CRA opened a new data hall at the Cukrák transmitter last spring, purchased the Lužice data centre, and, above all, launched one of the region’s largest projects: CRA Prague Gateway DC. This is set to be completed in 2027 in collaboration with the parent company, Cordiant Digital Infrastructure.
