CRA increases the coverage of its DAB+ network for commercial radios

CRA is expanding the coverage of its DAB B network for broadcasting commercial radio stations. They are launching broadcasts from 14 additional transmitters and increasing the network's reach to 83.4% of the Czech population.
Until today, 17 transmitters have been operating in the DAB B network of CRA, which brings the total number of transmitters now to 31. Radio United Broadcasting, a radio media group, broadcasts in multiplex B, specifically the radio stations Radio Kiss, Country Radio, Radio Beat, Radio 1, Radio Spin, and Signal Radio.
‘The digitalisation of radio broadcasting is a project we have been working on intensively and for a long time’, says CRA CEO Miloš Mastník. ‘We are still working to increase coverage and now more than 80% of the Czech population tunes in to the multiplex with commercial radio stations. We believe that this will contribute to its faster penetration to listeners’, adds Miloš Mastník.
CRA thus met the conditions for coverage of the full-screen broadcasting network one year earlier than stipulated in the auction conditions of the Czech Telecommunications Office. At the same time, they have built a modern digital network for their customers, which allows them to broadcast different content in different regions within the full-screen coverage, which is commercially important for all private radio stations.
‘We very much appreciate the speed with which the DAB+ commercial broadcasting network has been launched. We are confident of a positive response from listeners. In the future, we also plan to use the regionalisation options of the broadcasts, especially to separate the service information content and commercial messages of our stations’, adds Martin Hroch, CEO of Radio United.
