České Radiokomunikace Launches Nationwide Broadcasting of 1+1 Ukrainian TV

CRA is launching the broadcasting of the Ukrainian TV station 1+1 within the framework of terrestrial digital television broadcasting. The broadcast will thus be available free of charge throughout the Czech Republic.

CRA is including the 1+1 station in multiplex 23.  It will be available free of charge throughout the Czech Republic and can be tuned as part of digital terrestrial television broadcasting with automatic tuning. The broadcasting of the Ukrainian TV station will help keep Ukrainian citizens in the Czech Republic in touch with information about events in their home country, in their native language.

"We want to contribute as best we can, through free and highly accessible distribution of the Ukrainian station 1+1, to give people the opportunity to get information in their native language about what is happening in their country,” says CRA’s CEO Vit Vážan. “The flexibility of digital terrestrial TV broadcasting allows us to start broadcasting the entire programme of the station 1+1. The broadcasting will be available from 11 April,” adds Vít Vážan.

“I fully understand how important it is for people fleeing Russian aggression to stay in regular contact with their homeland. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is already coordinating the assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees by mobile operators in the Czech Republic. The launch of the Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 in our country is another way of helping, and I therefore welcome it very much,” says Jozef Síkela, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

1+1 television will broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The terrestrial broadcasting platform is used for television reception by approximately 53% of households in the Czech Republic. Terrestrial TV broadcasting signal covers more than 99% of households in the country and terrestrial television is the only free platform for viewers.
